I never thought this guy will make me write a blog about him. To tell about me, I am a kind of girl, who feels like writing about so many things in life but ends in writing nothing because of my laziness. My last blog was about my mother as a gift on her birthday. Its 8 months since then. I never thought ill write “anything” in near future or at least till I completed my CAT exam. But “this” particular guy made me do it once again.
I don’t think he needs a name after all what’s in a name??? Anyone in this world will like this guy and they would love to be with a guy of this character; a guy who failed in his tenth grade CBSE exam but also topped his state engineering entrance, one who is mad about games but just stopped it in college because of his emotions for his school, one who was barred from the school but was also the best student of the school, a journey from riches to rags and then back to riches and what more?
When I first met him, I never felt he’d create this big impression in me. Of course, a
Small, fair, reserved, puny guy from a small town in Madhya Pradesh is not expected to make any impact on you. But this guy was certainly different; Let me stop it here about that guy because if I start speaking more about this guy, I’ll end up writing another blog.
This particular day, I was so fed up with my work in my project and my head was aching so badly. I hate going alone to canteen and having tea. So I called “this” guy asking for his time. It came as a surprise for me when he immediately accepted. We ordered for our tea in the canteen and we went upstairs for a very small chat. We started speaking about table tennis, a game that many of our colleagues love and the topic slowly got diverted to all other sports. He started speaking about his football experiences which eventually led him to speak about his school.
That is the time when I saw the sparkle in his eyes. He started speaking about ragging his juniors in the school( his was a residential school), the way he played pranks on his school-mates, the way he teased his friends, the way he flunked his 10th grade exam, the way he got up early in the morning and studied for his 12th grade exam(of course only the last few months). It was though he was narrating my experiences in schools, almost every one’s experience in their school days where we had no worry about anything else and just fun and fun only. Getting up at early in the morning (I should remind few of u guys, that early in the morning means 4 in the morning, of course now a days it has changed its definition to 8) was possible only in our school days. Helping friends in their studies without getting scared that they will score more than us, playing in the ground till our shirts get drenched with sweat, crying in the farewell party for leaving the school (most of us even wished (of course the entire batch) to fail and stay in our school only) are the attributes that belong only to our school life.
I could see how much he missed his school in his life. It was a journey of an intelligent student who topped his 6th grade entrance exam but became mischievous latter which resulted in failing his CBSE board examination and again made him the topper of the state in his Engineering Entrance Examination. His eyes showed me how much he missed his football ground of his school. I never had seen him that emotional; He turned into a very small guy who started telling me all fairy tales that happened in school. I could see the emotions of every human being who missed their school life in him. Every single day in his school life he remembered, even the exam roll number in his tenth and twelfth class he was able to tell me; such a love he had for his school life. I then started realizing for every human being their school becomes their first love. The classes we use to sit, the places where we used to have our lunch time “Big fights”, the kicks from friends, the punishment from our teachers, last but not least, standing together for a cause of supporting a friend, almost everything remains so fresh even today when we close our eyes.
At last he concluded saying that “Time flies like anything”. Not only our school life but also our thoughts about it now make our time fly like anything. I badly wanted my school life back after I spoke to him. I wanted to be with my friends with whom I enjoyed every moment without any fear of Ego or betrayal (which is so prevalent today). Now days we are in the circumstances where it's very difficult to keep in touch with every single friend on personal basis, but it always takes us to the top of the world when we re-establish and retain the links with our old friends. When we were in school, did we realize that we were spending too much of our time in it? Never. But now?
